Reasons for failure of medium frequency heat treatment furnace to meet heating requirements

May 27, 2022

Induction heating technology is the most effective heat treatment process commonly used at present. It is widely used in the fields of surface quenching, diathermy quenching, tempering and stress relief (low temperature), annealing and normalizing (high temperature), weld annealing, powder metal sintering, etc. In terms of casting, duplex melting process is rapidly developing, i.e. precision casting of nodular iron or alloy steel by heat preservation modification in medium frequency furnace; In terms of forging, rapid diathermy hot forging is realized by dare heating, which not only reduces oxide skin loss, but also greatly increases the service life of forging die. Its material utilization rate can reach 85, and the surface roughness of forgings can be less than 50 μ M; In welding and quenching, on the one hand, foreign countries are committed to developing high-power all solid-state high-frequency power supply, on the other hand, they are committed to developing a complete set of highly automated heat treatment systems. At present, China needs about 10million tons of castings every year. However, the casting industry is still dominated by cupola smelting and general cast iron casting. The tonnage is small, resulting in large fluctuations in temperature and composition and high scrap rate. The better scrap rate of foundry industry is also between 6 and 15, while the scrap rate of general foundry is as high as 30.

Before operation, first be familiar with the heat treatment process specification and the equipment to be used.

During operation, necessary protective articles must be worn, such as work clothes, gloves, protective glasses, etc.

Do not place any objects that hinder the operation between the induction heating equipment and the cooling equipment.

Carburizing agent mixing, sand blasting, etc. shall be carried out in a separate room, and adequate ventilation equipment shall be provided.

Equipment hazardous areas (such as power leads, bus bars, conductive rods and transmission mechanisms of electric furnaces, etc.) shall be protected with barbed wire, fences, boards, etc.

All tools for heat treatment shall be placed in an orderly manner. Cracked and inappropriate tools are not allowed.

The entrances and exits of the workshop and the access roads in the workshop shall be unobstructed. Fire extinguishing sand boxes shall be arranged near the nozzle of heavy oil furnace and the pouring nozzle of gas furnace; Fire extinguishers shall be placed in the workshop.

After heat treatment, do not touch the workpiece to avoid burning.
